Job Description
JOB TITLE: Internship in Painting Conservation (9-month)
REPORTS TO: Head of Conservation or nominated deputy
ROLE SUMMARY:
Founded in 1854, the National Gallery of Ireland today houses the nation’s most important collection of European and Irish Art. The works in its care, ranging in date from c.1300 to c.1950, include approximately 3.000 paintings and some 10.000 works on paper.
The Gallery is seeking to appoint a Painting Conservator to join our conservation team to work on paintings on canvas for the Gallery’s Catalogue.
The candidate should be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a professional qualification in painting conservation with a proper holistic comprehension of the issues associated with the discipline of conservation.
